Explore Kruger National Park on a small-group or private guided safari with Wild Wings Safaris. Our 3-, 4- and 5-day Kruger safaris include expert-guided game drives in open safari vehicles, comfortable en-suite accommodation inside the park and regular departures from Johannesburg or Nelspruit.

We've been operating guided Kruger safaris since 2005, so if you're not sure how many days you need, where to stay or whether to combine Kruger National Park with a private game reserve, we can help you choose the safari that best suits your plans.

Choose Your Kruger Safari

Our core Kruger safaris follow the same basic approach: small groups, expert guiding, open-vehicle game drives and accommodation inside Kruger National Park. The main difference is how much time you spend in the park and how many game-viewing opportunities you have.

Best for: Time-limited travellers

2 nights · 4 game drives · 1 rest camp · Max. 9 guests

A shorter introduction to Kruger, with morning and afternoon game viewing on your full day in the park.

Best for: First-time safari-goers

3 nights · 6 game drives · 1 rest camp · Max. 9 guests

A well-paced Kruger safari with two full days of morning and afternoon game drives, giving you more time for wildlife viewing without making safari the sole focus of a longer South Africa trip.

Best for: Wildlife enthusiasts and photographers

4 nights · 8 game drives · 2 rest camps · guided bush walk and night drive · Max. 9 guests

A more in-depth Kruger experience with four nights in the park, two different rest camps and more time to explore different areas and habitats.

Not sure whether to choose 3, 4 or 5 days? We've compared the three safaris in more detail, including game-viewing time, pace, activities and who each option suits.

What to Expect on a Wild Wings Kruger Safari

Our scheduled Kruger safaris are designed to give you plenty of time in the park with an experienced guide, while keeping the practical side of the trip straightforward. From transfers and accommodation to daily game drives, the main arrangements are taken care of for you.

Expert Safari Guides

Your guide is central to the experience. Our Kruger guides know the park, its wildlife and its road network well, and use that knowledge to interpret what you see and make informed decisions about where to spend your game-viewing time.

Small Groups

Scheduled departures usually have between four and seven guests, with a maximum of nine guests per safari vehicle. This keeps groups small while allowing travellers to join a scheduled departure rather than having to arrange a private safari.

Open-Vehicle Game Drives

Game drives inside Kruger are conducted in open safari vehicles, giving you elevated views and an unobstructed safari experience. Your game-viewing time is spread across morning and afternoon drives, with the exact programme depending on the safari you choose.

Stay Inside Kruger National Park

On our core 3-, 4- and 5-day safaris, you stay in comfortable, air-conditioned en-suite bungalows or chalets in Kruger's rest camps, not outside the park and not in tents. Staying inside means your game viewing begins and ends in Kruger rather than requiring long daily transfers in and out.

Transfers From Johannesburg or Nelspruit

Regular departures are available from Johannesburg and Nelspruit. Return road transfers are included in the safari price, so you don't need to organise your own transport to and from Kruger.

Private Safaris Available

Prefer to travel only with your own party? Private departures can also be arranged on request, subject to availability.

Other Ways to Experience Kruger

Our 3-, 4- and 5-day guided safaris aren't the only way to experience Kruger. We can also combine the national park with a private game reserve, add other South African highlights, or arrange a different safari style to suit your plans.

Kruger Park & Private Lodge Combo

Combine guided game viewing inside Kruger National Park with a stay at a private game lodge in Greater Kruger. It's a good option if you'd like to experience the differences between the national park and a private reserve in one trip.

Kruger & Panorama Route

Combine your Kruger safari with the dramatic scenery of the Panorama Route, including some of Mpumalanga's best-known viewpoints and natural landmarks.

Why Safari With Wild Wings in Kruger?

Simon nicky and rufus wild wings safari guides

Kruger is where Wild Wings Safaris began, and we've been operating guided safaris in the park since 2005. Our connection to Kruger is practical and ongoing: our own guides are regularly on safari in the park, while the experience gained from decades of guiding in Kruger continues to inform how we plan and operate our safaris.

Experienced Kruger Safari Guides

A good safari guide does far more than find animals. Our guides draw on their knowledge of Kruger's wildlife, habitats, seasons and road network to interpret what you're seeing and make informed decisions throughout each game drive.

They also understand that no two guests are the same. Some want to spend time photographing a sighting, some are keen birders, some are on their first safari and want to understand everything they see. Good guiding means reading the bush and the people in the vehicle.

More Than 20 Years of Kruger Experience

Wild Wings Safaris began by operating guided safaris in Kruger National Park in 2005. Since then, Kruger has remained an important part of what we do.

That experience helps with the less obvious decisions too: how long to spend in the park, which areas and rest camps work well together, how seasons affect the experience, and when combining Kruger with a private game reserve makes sense.

Our Own Guided Safari Operations

These aren't simply Kruger itineraries that we sell on behalf of another safari operator. Wild Wings operates our core guided Kruger safaris ourselves, which keeps us directly connected to the experience our guests receive on the ground.

That direct involvement also means feedback from our guests and guides can feed back into how we operate our safaris and the advice we give future travellers.

What can we say about our safari guide Simon aka The Barefoot Guide that has not been said before? He is truly a legend — he loves all the animals and has such intensive knowledge.

Shout out to Nicky, our guide, who gave 110% and provided such an awesome and memorable experience for us. She is very knowledgeable and passionate. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and our group had such a blast!

If you're lucky to have Rufus as your guide, you're in for a treat. We loved his banter and genuine passion. He has 16 years in the industry and it shows when he sees a hyena more than a kilometre away!
