Katavi National Park is situated in the far southwest of Tanzania, making it a bit more of an effort to get to and ensuring that safaris here are uninterrupted by other humans or safari vehicles. Due to its remoteness, there are also not many camps, allowing for a bit more exclusivity. Camps are tented and relatively small. This is real African bush; uncrowded, untamed and unhurried.

The biggest attraction of Katavi National Park, besides its abundant game, is its remoteness, allowing one to experience the African wild without crowds and congestion. Most camps are situated on or near a waterhole or river, to get the best game viewing chances not only on game drives and walks but from within the camps themselves.
