Lion Sands Ivory Lodge, overlooking the Sand River, offers a world-class luxury safari experience in the prestigious Sabi Sand Reserve. The Lion Sands Private Game Reserve has no fences, allowing game to traverse freely between Lion Sands and the Kruger National Park. so visitors are certain to experience superb game viewing, and at least some of the Big Five wildlife.
The main lodge comprises a private lounge and bar area, wooden look-out decks, board room, wine cellar, health spa and gymnasium, curio shop, indoor and outdoor dining area.
Guests are accommodated in six spacious, private villas. Each villa has its own living room with fireplace, an exclusive, heated pool, en-suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers. The villas have been specifically designed with oversized windows to give you sweeping views of the surrounding bush, and any wildlife that happens by - whether from the comfort of your bedroom or your private viewing deck - en-route to replenish themselves at the river below.
For the more adventurous, there's the option of 'sleeping out' under the African stars in the 5-star luxury Chalkley Tree House (at an additional cost).
All-inclusive Game Viewing Experience
Included in the tariff are daily game drives and bush walks. The game drives take place in the early morning and early evening when the game is at its most active. No aspect of the bush is glanced over and visitors are introduced to the smaller, yet often more fascinating wonders of nature. An experienced guide will impart his/her knowledge on a wide range of subjects from medicinal plants to lifecycles to the skill of tracking animals.

Getting to Ivory Lodge
There are various ways of getting there. There are daily flights from OR Tambo International (Johannesburg) to Nelspruit Airport. From here we can arrange a road transfer to the lodge (2 hours). We can also arrange a chartered flight from Johannesburg to the Lion Sands airstrip. Road transfers from Johannesburg to the lodge take about 6 hours. Alternatively, you may want to choose a self-drive option and we can arrange a car rental for you at excellent rates.
