Tucked away in the remote eastern corner of Botswana at the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo Rivers where Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe meet, Mashatu Game Reserve is a privately owned wildlife haven that offers an exclusive and intimate safari experience.
Guests can explore Mashatu's diverse landscapes and marvel at the private reserve's wealth of wildlife, which includes daily sightings of cheetah, lion and leopard, on open safari vehicle game drives, horseback, on foot or by mountain bike.
Mashatu Game Reserve offers terrific year-round game viewing. With warm to hot daytime temperatures throughout the year and low annual rainfall, the prevalence of river water on Mashatu ensures the wildlife doesn't migrate.
In keeping with the reserve's low-impact tourism policy, vehicles at wildlife sightings with a maximum of six guests on board are limited and strategically positioned to be non-intrusive so that the safari experience at Mashatu Game Reserve is authentic, uncrowded and intimate.
Mashatu Lodge
Mashatu Lodge is a beautiful, waterhole-facing safari lodge with 14 spacious luxury suites. Each suite has a large en-suite bathroom, a seating area and a private bush-facing verandah. The family-friendly lodge welcomes children of all ages and inter-leading suites are available for families.

The lodge has a comfortable guest lounge with complimentary WiFi, a dining area, an outdoor boma, a waterhole-facing bar, a large swimming pool and a Discovery Room which takes visitors through Mashatu Game Reserve's cultural history, research projects and wildlife. Children are kept entertained with Kids@Mashatu activities and babysitting services are available on request.
Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu
Family-friendly Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu on the banks of the Limpopo River near a waterhole welcomes children of all ages. Accommodation consists of eight spacious luxury tented suites. Each tented suite has an island bed, a freestanding bath, a large shower, double basin vanities, a separate toilet, a large private wraparound deck and a lounge area large enough to accommodate two extra single beds.

The lodge's large grounds and gardens include a swimming pool, a waterhole, a photographic hide and a walking trail, and activities include a children's programme, morning and afternoon game drives, after-dinner night drives and full-day cultural experiences and village tours.
Mashatu Tent Camp
Tucked beneath the branches of enormous trees, Mashatu Tent Camp is an eco-safari camp that overlooks a waterhole and offers an intimate and fully immersive one-on-one bush experience. Eight spacious and comfortable classic tents are accessible via winding walkways and come equipped with solar-powered electrical points, fans, an outdoor patio and an outdoor ensuite bathroom with a flush toilet and a shower.
Private classic tented accommodation
Mashatu Tent Camp's main guest area has a plunge pool, an open-sided thatched gazebo where breakfast and lunch are served and a floodlit waterhole-facing traditional boma where campfire dinners are served at night.
Guests can cool off by the plunge pool between game drives during the day or watch animals come to drink at the waterhole from the comfort of the sturdy, shaded double-story hide.
