Lion Sands River lodge is a stylish, comfortable five star safari destination. More About Lion Sands River Lodge
Lion Sands River Lodge is where luxury, first class service and an exclusive interaction with South Africa's magnificent wildlife come together. This is one of the more affordable five star game lodges in the Southern Sabi Sand, and its proximity to the Sabie River means that game is always in abundance in this area. Lion Sands has its own exclusive traversing area in one of the best game viewing areas within the greater Kruger National Park. Game drives are conducted by experienced rangers on open land rovers. A guided interpretive bush walk is also included each day.
The recently refurbished rooms are spacious and the finishes are excellent. The 18 luxurious suites are connected by a wooden boardwalk, and all the rooms have either a bush view or river view. Each suite has airconditioning, modern en-suite bathroom and overhead fans.
The lodge features expansive deck areas with big shady trees, and a powerful spotting scope allows you to get a close-up view of any wildlife or birds along the banks of the Sabie River. Lion Sands River Lodge boasts two swimming pools (one on either end of the lodge, and heated in winter).
Dining at River Lodge is always a feast, and usually complimented by some of the finest wines from the well-stocked cellar (note that only house wines are included - cellar wines cost extra). Meals will either be enjoyed outside on the deck overlooking the river, or in the dining room, or in the traditional boma (African reed enclosure) around a bonfire.
Getting to Lion Sands is easy. We can either fly you direct to the lodge's airstrip, or arrange a 2 hour road transfer from the nearest airport at Nelspruit. Alternatively, we can arrange a rental car for you and you can drive yourself to the lodge (no 4x4 is needed). We have no hesitation in recommending Lion Sands.

Inyati Game Lodge
Inyati Game Lodge is situated in the Western sector of the Sabi Sands Reserve, one of the largest and most prestigious conservancies in the Greater Kruger National Park. Its superb river frontage attracts a great diversity of wildlife. Guests are accommodated in 10 en-suite thatched chalets. Most of the chalets have views of the surrounding unspoilt bush.
