Safety is a top priority at Wild Wings Safaris, and we've never experienced crime-related incidents on our safaris. While crime exists in major cities worldwide, exercising common sense and avoiding known problem areas can mitigate risks.

We frequently visit and explore all the destinations we recommend to ensure they are safe for our guests. By staying vigilant and adhering to safety rules, you can enjoy your trip with peace of mind. For additional tips, check out our blog on "Safety Tips for Tourists."

At Wild Wings Safaris, your safety is our priority. Many travellers worry about crime when visiting South Africa or other African destinations, but we've never encountered any incidents of crime during our safaris. Like any major city worldwide, crime can be a reality in urban areas, but simple precautions can help you avoid any issues. Stick to well-travelled areas, avoid risky situations, and rely on your guide or lodge staff for advice on local safety.

We regularly travel to and explore the destinations we recommend, from vibrant cities to game reserves and national parks. We would never advise visiting a place we don't feel is safe for tourists. Compared to many international destinations, South Africa and its neighbouring safari regions are as safe, if not safer, for visitors.

Going on safari is also inherently secure. National parks such as the Kruger feature enclosed camps surrounded by electric fences, ensuring that wildlife stays outside the boundaries. In private game reserves where lodges may not be fenced, you'll always be in the company of a trained safari guide or ranger who prioritises your safety. Additionally, by following safari rules—such as staying in your vehicle and listening to your guide—you minimise risks from wildlife encounters.
