Hi Clare, We had the most fabulous time at Kruger and Simbavati Reserve. The best ever, and we've done three safaris before in Kenya, Tanzania, and even a tiger safari near Delhi, India. We missed the night drive that we had in Kenya where we saw the lioness bring a zebra dinner home to the male lion and five big cubs, but seeing the Big Five every day made up for that experience. We saw a total of six leopards and some people have to be satisfied with not seeing even one leopard.

Our guide at Kruger, Frank, was great and explained things in detail. He was the same guide that escorted some people a few years ago to a waterhole and the video "Battle at Kruger" was filmed. You can hear his voice explaining the fight between six young lions attacking a young cape buffalo and a crocodile. The herd of large cape buffalo moved in on the lions throwing them in the air and eventually chased them off. The baby cape buffalo got up and returned to the herd.

Clement at Simbavati Reserve was so knowledgeable about every animal we saw. He would drive into the bush over just about everything, and we saw young and older wild dogs and also lions resting before the night's hunt. Staying on the roads would not have provided that opportunity.

Our surprise on the last evening was a 50th wedding anniversary meal with all the decorations and champagne. We didn't catch on about our beds decorated with brightly colored leaves in the shape of a heart, and small votive candles all over the place. But when we went to dinner, and they would not let us sit down because of some problem and started to escort back up the path to our room, they stopped at the pool enclosure and there was our private table surrounded by chandeliers, lanterns, a bonfire and champagne for a toast. Thank you to Melody, Amen and all the others that participated in this celebration.

After so many wonderful comments, I hate to discuss the South African Air flights, but they were very bad. I was in Business Class for only my second time, and the food, service, in-flight entertainment, bathroom maintenance, safety issues and more were very lacking for the $6005. I paid. The flat bed was GOOD!! I hope the comments that I made by letter to SAA will rectify my bad experiences, and if they make corrections, that future fliers will have much more rewarding flights.

Thank you, Clare, for being very professional and patient with me as we had many communications in the planning stages of this trip. I already have and will continue to recommend Wild Wings Safaris and you to my friends and family for a most enjoyable trip.
