We encountered much more wildlife at close quarters than expected
From Derek, UK, travelled with us during June 2019
Hi Corlie, the whole experience far exceeded our expectations, we had a wonderful time in Kruger!! All elements were exceptional most notably the fact that we encountered much more wildlife at close quarters than expected. This was due in no small part to the skill and patience of Sam who guided us to some wonderful close-up experiences.
He is such a credit to the Park organisation and a thoroughly nice person to spend time with both on the drives and in the camp. 10/10!
The pickups were fine, as was the transport back to Joburg at the end of the trip. The Safari vehicle was excellent affording great views of the wildlife. The blankets were very welcome early morning! Not sure if it is standard practice but Sam was always aware of our camera angles and would lower the two windscreens when needed without us having to ask!
The Camp was clean comfortable and well laid out. The accommodation was fine, no complaints there as was the shop, takeaway and restaurant. Same goes for the two brunch stops, both very good - and very welcome!!
I cannot wait to book my next trip
From Mehdy, UAE, travelled with us during May 2019
Hi Michael, I have returned from my travels in South Africa and cannot thank you enough for organizing the most perfect and life-changing trip. Your country is amazing, beautiful landscapes with warm people and delicious food. Your expertise in tailoring my agenda with such a short turn around time was exceptional, and your kindness throughout put me at pure ease all the way through. I cannot wait to book my next trip and will be recommending you to all my friends and family!
Our guide, Sam, made the trip!
From Lynne, USA, travelled with us during May 2019
Hi Madi and Thks! I had a wonderful experience and will recommend you to friends! Our guide, Sam, made the trip! Knowledgeable and kind, the animals seemed to come to him. I was impressed that he is a second-generation Kruger guide. I enjoyed his stories and the opportunity to just watch animals quietly. All details like pick-up, drop-off and accommodation flowed easily.
Thank you for making our South Africa dreams come true
From Crystal, Germany, travelled with us during May 2019
Madi,
I wanted to take the time to personally thank you for being an amazing travel consultant. You truly went above and beyond what I could ask for, especially with all of the last-minute changes due to the restraints. I appreciate your patience and for your genuine care in making this trip happen. I cannot express how much I loved our trip to South Africa (I'm sure my husband agrees it was a trip of a lifetime ... we just wish we had more time there). Everything was seamless and all of the recommendations you made were spectacular. Even our drivers for our transfers between places were great. I am sorry for how much the travel industry is suffering right now, but I pray everything will improve soon and your tourism will pick up again. I will definitely recommend you to anyone interested in a trip to Africa. Again, thank you for making our South Africa dreams come true for a reasonable price. We loved every moment. Take care and God bless.
The game drives were a dream come true!
From Jennie, Ireland, travelled with us during May 2019
Hi Madi, Bateleur was amazing and we could not have asked for a more friendly, professional, beautiful place. Brad, Sophia, Lucky, the rest of the staff welcomed us like family. We were really sad to leave. The rooms were beautiful, the food delicious and the game drives were a dream come true! We saw all the Big Five and more. Blyde River was quirky and different, and Moholoholo was very interesting. Oscar was a great guide and is clearly very passionate about his work. Thank you so much for all the recommendations.
Probably the best days of our lives!!
From Johannes, Germany, travelled with us during March 2019
Dear Clare, I really wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our stay in Kruger! After talking to the rest of the guys, we all agreed that there is nothing to complain! Probably the best days of our lives!! Our guide, Marc, was amazing! He was absolutely enthusiastic and thoughtful. He showed us amazing things and made every minute count. We had a great time with him. I’d recommend him 10/10! Best guide ever! The accommodations were perfectly fine for us, nothing to complain here. It was simple, but that’s, what we wanted. They were clean and well suited for our needs. Transport to Johannesburg was fine as well, we arrived in time! The whole package you offered us gave us an opportunity to fully enjoy our trip! We were really happy about booking with you. Thank you all for this amazing experience and I’m looking forward to our next adventure!
We All Had An Amazing Time
From Alex, USA, travelled with us during February 2019
Hi Clare, The safari was wonderful. We all had an amazing time.
I could not say more wonderful things about Frank, he made our trip. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable and I would recommend him as well as Wild Wings to anyone traveling to South Africa.
We got lucky enough to see the "super 7". The accommodations were great and everything went very smoothly. The food was also very good. We had a great time and hope to take another safari with Wild Wings and Frank in the future! I have attached some pictures that Frank wanted us to send to him. He told us to email them to you and you would get them to him?
It's been a blast!
From Mandy & Martin, UK, travelled with us during January 2019
A huge, huge thank you to you and your team for the great holiday you put together for us. Using a local South African company who has the knowledge and experience certainly paid off. We loved our accommodation at every destination, it was a nice surprise every time we went to a new place. All the team in every part of the holiday were superb n everything went to plan.
Dad has loved his first holiday to Africa and has fell in love with Cape Town that he wants to come back.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again, it's been a blast :)
This safari was specifically tailored to the guests' requests. We will gladly do the same for you.
We loved every minute!
From Gerhard, Germany, travelled with us during January 2019
We were very satisfied with our 5-day / 4 night guided “Duncan’s Camp” mobile safari with Karibu, organised through Madi. We loved it!
“Mobile” refers to the fact that you move from place to place with a 4x4 game viewing vehicle, with a ranger/driver/guide that does the driving and animal, bird & plant spotting and explaining.
A small crew, responsible for sorting out your accommodation and food is also part of the deal. That means you have to do absolutely nothing except sitting in an open vehicle (usually no more than 6 people per vehicle), spotting animals and birds (ticking them off your wishlist if you want) and sitting down for sundowners and meals.
Another advantage is seeing a huge amount of animals (including the elusive wild cats, lions, leopards & cheetahs!!) & birds (we saw 63 different kinds) and learning about them from a real expert. Starting points could be Maun, Gaborone, Kasane, etc. Within the concept of a guided mobile safari there are 3 further options, according to your budget:
1. Fixed tented camps: (this was us) our accommodation was in tents that are set up permanently, e.g. Duncan’s Camp (on a beautiful lake), Third Bridge Camp (in the heart of Moremi). Each tent has comfortable beds & linen and a private, open bathroom with shower, normal toilet & basin.
2. Mobile tented camps: here the crew brings everything with them and leave nothing behind. The locations are often next to a river for ultimate game viewing. Showers and toilettes are also transported and set up by the crew.
3. Lodges: the luxury option, where you spend 2 nights, on average, in a lodge before being transported to the next one.
Our clear suggestion for inexperienced bush visitors is that of a guided mobile safari, such as offered by Karibu. The guide/ranger we had, Balebi Kaelotswe, was a fountain of information and a very kind, gentle man and we loved every minute of the 5 days/4 nights together.
This safari was specifically tailored to the guests' requests. We will gladly do the same for you.
Ask for Simon - He's a Part of Kruger
From Hashem, Iran, travelled with us during January 2019
I make it simple:
1. Ask for Simon, He’s not a human. He’s a leopard, a lion, a snake, an antelope, a buffalo, a rhino, a tree ... he’s a part of Kruger
2. He’s extremely on time
3. He got good eyes and constantly in contact with all rangers and guides to spot animals
4. He stops whenever you ask him to stop and never been grumpy
5. He knows how to manage idiots on safari and make it pleasant for everyone even idiots
6. Too much food, nice food. Don’t change too much money for lunch as they say it’s not provided. You don’t need anything more than what they provide
7. He magically stops the car on the right spot to allow everyone to take a nice shot
8. He’s knowledgeable and experienced
9. Brand new cars and you don’t experience car breaks
10. Accommodation is way better than what you get in other countries national parks
11. Whoever you are, He’s more enthusiasted [sic] than you to find animals
12. He is a great photographer
13. He is generous and gave someone his lens!!!!! to be able to take better photos to enjoy the safari more
