What a most fantastical trip we had!
From Martyn and Gill, UK, travelled with us during September 2023
Hi Clare,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
What a most fantastical trip we had.
From the first communication to the last, you've been brilliant. Well organised, and so helpful.
The safari itself was magical. Every day, a 'Wow' day! Rufus our guide was exceptional. His knowledge of animals and their behaviour is impressive. His enthusiasm boundless. His humour infectious. His cooking scrumptious. We saw all the big 5 and so much more! The included morning bush walk and night drive were real treats, so pleased they were part of our experience. The 4-night, 5-day safari was the perfect option for us. The transfers from and to our Joburg hotel were seamless. Thanks for a great experience from booking to end.
We would definitely recommend Wild Wings to anyone thinking of a safari in South Africa.
Many thanks.
It will always be very special memory for us!

Dear Clare
Thank you for your email.
We had a most wonderful time - and were so sad to be coming home. A 5-star holiday. It just means we have to do it again!
In terms of arrangements, the transfer to Arusha and Katambuga House, was smooth and easy. A lovely driver - but we were all rather tired from the flights so we were not very chatty.
The accommodation was so comfortable - our 'children' were rather surprised at the level of luxury. The staff were very friendly and attentive - and made a special effort to celebrate the honeymooners. It was much appreciated.
The morning transfer to the airstrip was efficient - we didn't have to worry about timings because we could see that the staff at Katambuga had it all in hand. They made us a lovely breakfast and off we went.
Flights were good - Joe had a chance to sit next to the pilot which made his holiday!
And then the pick up at Seronera was easy - and we were met by our lovely guide, Saiid.
We were spotting animals on the way to Olmara Camp and then arrived to a very friendly welcome. Olmara Camp was just right - so comfortable but not pretentious. Tucked away amongst trees and with nighttime 'visitors' to make us realise that we were really in the Serengeti. The elephants kept drinking all the water so sometimes the shower didn't work - but who cares!
Robert, Lucas and all the staff looked after us like old friends - very relaxed. I was so impressed that they knew us by name immediately - that doesn't happen very often. They picked up on the fact that we loved sitting around the campfire to star-gaze. So, for our last night's dinner together, they set up a table outside, under the stars. That will be a memory I will always treasure.
Our guide, Saiid, was fantastic. He worked so hard - we went on some very long drives. Driving, guiding, spotting and giving us breakfast. His love for the animals and for the Serengeti was clear. But he had such in-depth knowledge of the flora and fauna - and his ability to spot was beyond amazing.
The transfer back to Seronera was easy - more time to spot animals. The only glitch was the ticketing - there was confusion about names and who was going where (Lizzy and James were flying onto Zanzibar). But Saiid dealt with that and off we went and all the luggage arrived in the right place.
So, thank you for arranging it for us. It will always be very special memory for us.
Highly recommend Wild Wings Safaris and I would certainly plan my future tours with them!
From Sridhar, USA, travelled with us during July 2023
Our safari tour in South Africa, Victoria Falls, and Chobe National Park, organized by Wild Wings Safaris, was fantastic. We did a hybrid safari – a private reserve safari combined with Kruger National Park. We liked both experiences and saw all the Big 5 animals and more.
We started our safari tour planning about 4 – 5 months ahead of the tour and Ilaria Semprini-Sara, our tour consultant, was great from the start. She noted our interests and carefully planned the tour and made it efficient by suggesting airline connections and giving all the details in a mobile app. She was meticulous and all the transfers were on time and accommodations were excellent.
In addition, our tour guide in Kruger National Park Simon was great. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the birds and animals. The tour was well-organized with professional communication and organization. Highly recommend Wild Wings Safaris and I would certainly plan my future tours with them.
Everything was great!

Hi Ilaria,
We just wanted to reach out to let you know that Melissa and I had a great time in South Africa, and to say thank you!
Everything was great - from our pick up at the airport to our stay at the Safari Club, to our time on safari. And we really enjoyed having Nicky as our safari guide. She was very knowledgeable and engaging. In fact, we enjoyed our time with her so much that we told her we'd ask you to share our email addresses with her so that she can connect with us to continue some conversations we had during our time there.
Thank you!
It is just an experience that shouldn't be missed!

Hi Clare!
We had the BEST time. We loved South Africa in general and the safari was just out-of-this-world! Nicky was amazing and after spending 6 hours on the road with her on the way to Kruger, it was like going on safari with a good friend. The kids loved her as well and she really went out of her way to make everything perfect. After we left, both the kids kept saying they missed her! I'm not sure when she ever slept! I really enjoyed all the information she had about the animals and their behavior and how ethical she was in giving them enough space, as well as striving to be sure we didn't stay too long at a sighting so that others could also enjoy it.
I really can't complain about anything! The days in Kruger were long (but it was worth it to see as much as we did), so I felt like the 2 nights in Kruger and 3 nights at Bateleur balanced out really well, and I think we got the best experience by getting to do both. I don't think I would change anything about it. Doing Kruger first and then the private reserve was the best way to do it, which I think you mentioned when we were planning.
Throughout the planning stages, you were great and answered all my paranoid questions! The hardest part of the planning is just the time difference, but that is just a reality of planning a trip in Africa or even Europe and can't really be helped.
It was a great experience and we have only great things to say about Wild Wings Safaris. Thanks again for all of your help with this! I really hope that I am able to book clients on your safaris in the near future... it is just an experience that shouldn't be missed!
We would definitely recommend you, folks!
From Robin, USA, travelled with us during June 2022
Hi Clare,
We would definitely recommend you, folks! The safari exceeded all expectations. You provided exceptional service. We appreciate your help with rebooking after the initial cancellation. You were always courteous, helpful, and responsive. Nicky was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable, smart, courteous, kind, patient in answering our many questions, and a great driver and chef. We could not have asked for a better guide.
At home, we typically walk an hour a day so sometimes it was a bit hard to be in the vehicle most of the day. That said, we completely understand why (we are there to see the animals and obviously we can't walk freely in the park!) We really, really enjoyed the morning walk, both for what we saw and because we had the opportunity to get some exercise!
The accommodations in the park were fine. They were clean and had everything we needed. The Safari Club was nice and close to the airport. Their meals were good. The owners/staff were very nice and helpful. We booked a Johannesburg tour guide through them.
We could not have done it without you
From Liam, USA, travelled with us during October 2021
Clare,
The safari exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Kambaku River Sands was better than we imagined. Everyone there was so friendly and accommodating and the overall service was top notch. Our rooms were spectacular and there is not a single complaint I have about our stay there.
We saw the big 5 and then some. We were lucky enough to see the painted wolves, as well as a leopard every day. One day our guide, Julius, and tracker, Douglas, followed a leopard through the bush for 45 minutes. Julius and Douglas were the best guides and trackers and we were lucky to be paired with them. As I said, everything was perfect and we have zero complaints!
Your service to us was amazing as well. We really appreciated your patience as we moved dates several times, as well as your fast responses to our inquiries. We could not have done it without you, so we truly do thank you for all you did for us in setting this up! If we return (and we definitely want to), we would use your services, as well as Kambaku River Sands.
Thank you again for arranging this amazing trip!
It was the best decision
From Lauren, South Africa, travelled with us during April 2021
Hi Clare,
Thank you SO much for the wishes. I had the best birthday of my life, it was one I will never forget! We had the most incredible experience from start to finish. Simon was brilliant, he created the most memorable time. We saw all of the big 5 with the most amazing sightings of the animals (one example being a herd of elephants crossing the road right in front of our car!! it was surreal). I absolutely loved Blyde River Canyon, too. We got amazing pictures but the fact that I could capture the view with my eyes on that day was just amazing. All the service providers were excellent. Oh, and the meals made by Simon shared around the dinner table with my favourite people in the world was just the best. Thank you for making this holiday possible. It was the best decision.
The safari was an unforgettable experience
From Luciana, Brazil, travelled with us during December 2020
Hi Madi, the safari was an unforgettable experience, such personalized care! And my room - oh my! Nothing like anything I've ever stayed in before. They also have a lovely swimming pool to do laps in - and none of that is advertised! I took over 1000 photos and now I am going through them...
South Africa is amazing and we hope to return soon!
From Mary, USA, travelled with us during March 2020
Dear Madi,
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We are very happy we spent time in both Kruger and Klaserie. "Same, same but different" is the best way to describe our experience between the two reserves. They were different but both magnificent. Following staying at the large camp in Kruger, we appreciated staying at the more intimate Gomo Gomo. We loved the 'sundowner' at Klaserie - one evening we were enjoying gin and tonics when we saw a giraffe in the sunset! It was like stepping into a National Geographic photo.
Our guides at both locations were amazing. They were both so passionate about their work. At Kruger, we had an amazing experience of seeing a leopard sleeping in a tree - it is beyond me how Simon saw the leopard! Simon was also very into the birds and always took time to point them out and give information about the birds. The birds are magnificent and underrated so we enjoyed his information.
Our driver Mandla was fabulous. We learnt so much about South Africa speaking with him. He did everything possible to ensure we saw what we could and had a wonderful day. He knew a place to stop down the road from the entrance to God's Window where we were able to enjoy a spectacular view through the side window. He pointed out so many things along the way and explained their role in South Africa, i.e. pine trees, macadamia nuts. Our day ended with a deeper understanding of South Africa. Hippo Hollow was a wonderful end to our trip. As we did not need to leave until 14h00 to go to the airport, we were able to have a late checkout and relax overlooking the waterhole. The staff was so warm and helpful. The restaurant was fantastic.
Our driver to Kruger Airport, Johan, went above and beyond to assist us. There was a lot of confusion about where to get the shuttle to Eswatini (even if we were at the correct airport, unbeknown to us, there is also a small airport in Kruger Park.) He stayed with us until we spoke with the agency in Mbabane and confirmed we were at the correct location. He also gave us directions on how to get a taxi back to Nelspruit if necessary.
When we were planning our trip, at first I was hesitant to plan a safari as I had gone on safari years ago in Kenya. I now cannot believe I even considered not going! We appreciated all the information that you provided us prior to departure. It was great to have a day-by-day overview of our itinerary. Hope this finds you and yours doing well. South Africa is amazing and we hope to return soon!
We made a good choice booking with Wild Wings Safaris
From Peter, USA, travelled with us during February 2020
Hi Mike,
My wife and I have both been thinking of something negative to say about our safari and experience with Wild Wings, but we come up blank. Everything from your very informative website, ease of booking and payment, organisation and detailed information of our personal safari and guide, was exceptional.
We really appreciated you responding very timely and fully to any questions we had. We must also mention that our guide, Sam, did a fantastic job in spotting things and educating us. The way he communicated with other guides to make sure we didn't miss anything was excellent and I'm sure he is held in high esteem with his peers.
We made a good choice booking with Wild Wings and thank you very much for making this once in a lifetime trip exactly what we'd hoped for We would definitely recommend Wild Wings Safaris to anybody for efficiency, planning and value for money.
My little son enjoyed playing in the pool and loved the game drives
From Mathilde, France, travelled with us during February 2020
Dear Clare,
We had great times at Gomo Gomo. From the first day to the last, we enjoyed our stay. Everything was very well organised. The game drives were wonderful: the tracker and the guide were great, very kind and professional. The lodge was very clean and the women who cleaned the rooms several times a day were very nice. The kitchen staff was very nice, too, and the meals were great with varied food. My little son enjoyed playing in the pool and loved the game drives especially seeing the Big 5 and the little stops we had twice a day with small, very good snacks to eat. I have already recommended Wild Wings Safaris! And last, but not least, I have really appreciated our email exchanges and your patience.
Many thanks to you!
