Exceptional Game-Viewing Area
The area around Eagle Island Camp offers superb game- and bird-viewing opportunities. All game-viewing activities on the island are conducted by professional safari guides. Guided game and bird walks can be arranged as well as exploring the waterways by motorised boats, mokoro (dugout canoe) or in the 14-seater sundowner cruiser. Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles are conducted between October and March, when water levels are low enough. Enjoy a spectacular aerial view of the Okavango during a private helicopter flight, which is included in your stay. The lodge also now offers a hot-air balloon activity, departing from Kadizora Camp, operational from May to November.
The public areas have been fully rebuilt to include a stylish dining area with a pizza oven, a lounge area with an artisan-style bar, a library, a separate campfire area and the popular Fish Eagle bar which is located directly on the water. Local artisans and materials were used throughout the renovations.
Eagle Island Camp can be reached by light aircraft transfer from Maun or Kasane. It is one of the most luxurious safari camps in the Okavango Delta, and with the helicopter flight included offers great value for money. Eagle Island Camp can best be combined with Khwai River Lodge and Savute Elephant Camp, its sister camps that offer the same high standards in accommodation and game viewing.
