Baines' Camp, named after the famous 19th Century explorer and artist, Thomas Baines, is known as an exclusive and intimate camp in Botswana's Okavango Delta that has only five luxury suites. Each suite is elevated on a wooden platform that offers an expansive view over the Boro River and lagoon from a private deck. The suites offer en-suite facilities as well as a mobile four-poster bed which can be rolled out onto the viewing deck (mosquito net and all). This gives guests the option of a romantic night sleeping under the stars. Each room comes equipped with ceiling fans, in-room safe, a fully-stocked mini-bar and hairdryer.
Baines' Camp offers year-round rewarding game and bird viewing. Professional resident guides conduct game-viewing drives in 4x4 open vehicles in the early morning as well as spotlit night drives which are great for viewing shy nocturnal species. Because the lodge is within a private concession area, game-drive vehicles are able to go off-road to get closer to prime animal sightings of lion, leopard and wild dog. Guests are able to explore the waterways by mokoro (dugout canoe) or by motorised boat (subject to water levels). Walking safaris are available, as well as an educational elephant interaction experience (available at an additional cost).
The main lodge houses the dining area, lounge and viewing deck, where guests can enjoy gourmet meals and the view over the lagoon. It's connected to the individual suites by raised wooden walkways. The entire lodge is built in an eco-friendly way, using natural materials and recycled waste material. There is a beautiful swimming pool area, equipped with two thatched salas and comfortable recliners.
Baines' Camp can only be reached by light aircraft. It is a 10-minute flight from Maun, followed by a 20-minute game drive from the airstrip to the lodge.

The Moremi Game Reserve is one of Botswana's best wildlife destinations. The lodges in the Moremi Game Reserve typically offer a combination of 4x4 game drives and boat trips on the waterways of the Okavango Delta. Moremi is a Big Five reserve, although currently only Chief's Island, deep in the Delta, has rhino following a successful rhino reintroduction programme. In other parts of Moremi, you can expect to see elephant, buffalo, lion and possibly leopard and wild dog as well. Cheetah are rare but they have been sighted here. General game includes giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, lechwe, puku, hartebeest, sable antelope, impala, waterbuck, baboon and monkey, warthog, hippo and crocodile.
