More about this accommodation
Ngala was the first private safari reserve to be incorporated in the world-famous Kruger National Park - the largest wildlife sanctuary in South Africa. Situated only 3 kilometres from the Kruger's Orpen Gate, Ngala Tented Camp is a luxurious satellite camp of Ngala Private Game Reserve, offering six deluxe tents on raised platforms with secluded wooden decks.
Set on the banks of the great seasonal Timbavati River, Ngala Tented Camp was built with a light footprint, to minimise impact on the environment.
The spacious tents have a fresh and contemporary feel, huge beds, oversized bath and an invigorating outdoor shower. Each tent is equipped with a quite overhead fan to combat the heat, and on winter nights you can snuggle up in a warm electric blanket. All year round, giant shady trees form a cool canopy over this tranquil camp.
The camp's chic and modern public areas overlook the Timbavati riverbed, which draws a lot of wild life to its tree-lined banks. The waterhole features an intimate hide, which affords close-up views of the animals and also provides fantastic photo opportunities.
Ngala offers moonlit bush dinners and bush sundowners. Bush banquets are served in a clearing in the bush under the starry sky. Each meal at Ngala is a spectacular affair, with much attention going into the preparation, making the dishes on offer a delight to both the palate and the eye. The Pan African cooking is accentuated with indigenous African spices and fire roasted meats are on offer alongside vegetarian meals and home-made ice creams.
