Kirkman's Kamp is a colonial-style, five star lodge reminiscent of the 1920's era. It has its origins as a traditional South African Homestead. This lodge is situated in the Sabi Sand Reserve which is well known for excellent big 5 game viewing. Kirkman's occupies one of the most elevated sites in the Sabi Sands Reserve, ensuring breathtaking views of pristine wilderness and the Sand River, which flows most year round. The area is said to have the greatest diversification of animal species on the African Continent.

More About Kirkmans Kamp
Kirkman's Kamp is situated in the famous Sabi Sand Reserve. Originally a 1920's South African homestead, this charming, colonial style game lodge is now comprised of 18 guest cottages accommodating a maximum of 36 guests.
The décor of the en-suite cottages is classical with nuances of the 1920's, they all have fans and air-conditioning. Each cottage has its own private veranda with views over the unspoilt bush.
The lodge has a swimming pool, tennis court, gym and curio shop. Guests can relax between game viewing activities on the spacious veranda or out on the manicured lawns. Alternatively the lodge has an interesting library and comfortable guest sitting room.
Mouth watering meals can be enjoyed inside in the lodge dining area or outside on the shady veranda, in the boma (African reed enclosure) or surrounded by the lantern-lit African bush. Kirkman's offers daily and nightly game drives in open 4x4 vehicles allowing for excellent viewing of game. Daily bushwalks within comfortable reach of the lodge are conducted by an armed ranger. The fact that this reserves shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and Mala Mala Game Reserves means that herds of animals are able to migrate freely to the perennial Sand River. This area is well known for its excellent sightings of leopard as well as the other Big 5.
Guests can get to the lodge by air or road. The approximate 450km drive from Johannesburg to Kirkman's takes about 5 hours. Alternatively, flights are available from Johannesburg to Nelspruit (75-80km from Kirkman's) or you can fly directly to the lodge.
