I did not want to leave!
From Olav, USA, travelled with us during March 2016
Clare, I had a fantastic time at Londolozi. I did not want to leave! All of the safari lodges have been great but I just felt that Londolozi did a little better on every dimension, from the coffee, to the room, to the food, to the guiding. Wow. I would definitely go back. I might hesitate to recommend it to anyone as a first experience though, lest it spoil them for all future travels to the region ;-)
Thank you once again for your assistance in arranging the travel. Everything, with the exception of the minor hiccup with the luggage pickup at the Joburg airport, went flawlessly.
I will definitely be in touch the next time that my travels take me to Africa.
Take care.
Such a memorable experience, we will never forget!

Let me first start by saying, Awesome, Incredible, Amazing and the list goes one!!!
My son Tom and I had the most enjoyable time ever on our safari with Wild Wings Safari!!! Starting with you taking great care of us and setting us up with all the arrangements. Flawless!!! Many thanks!!!
Now enter Neil Card, our Guide. You truly have a hard working and gifted individual working for you at Wild Wings Safari!!!
From the moment we met him at our hotel in Joburg we knew we were in great hands. We were fortunate to have him as our personal guide as we were the only ones scheduled for our 3 Day Safari. Neil made us feel special and he went out of his way to take such great care of us. From his safari guide skills to his cooking skills, I cannot say enough about Neil. He's AWESOME!!!!
Despite the 106 Fahrenheit temperatures we experienced during our 1st day at Kruger, Neil made sure we we saw as much as we could despite the severe drought the region was experiences. We did see all Big 5 thanks to Neil's determination to find the hardest to locate, the African Leopard. And on our 2nd day Neil was able to locate that leopard taking a siesta up in a tree. So very cool!!
Our accommodations at Skukuza were very comfortable and relaxing. I can still smell Neil's deliciously cooked meals from his amazing breakfast to dinners featuring grilled Kudu sausage and Ostrich fillet with all the trimmings. Just amazing to say the least!!
I cannot forget to mention Neil's pre-breakfast rest stop where were enjoyed fresh fruits, tea and cappuccino, and our new favorite, rusks!! OMG are those delicious!! I had to bring a few packages of rusks back to Boston.
I also cannot forget to mention our drive from our hotel at O.R.Tambo Airport to Skukuza and back. It was so enjoyable and comfortable!!
Neil not only drove us there and back safely but he explained in detail points of interest along the way. My son and I not only learned so much but we gained a real appreciation for South Africa and what it has to offer.
As far as things to improve on, I cannot think of anything. Please make sure Neil receives our feedback and let him know that we think of him often. He provided my son and I such a memorable experience we will never forget!
Thank you again Madi for all your help!!! I am recommending to all my friends and colleagues to book a safari with Wild Wings Safari!!!
Words Are Not Enough ...
From Ricketson Family, Spain/USA, travelled with us during December 2015
Words are not enough to even begin to describe our experience on our safari. Simon was a wonderful guide whose outgoing personality and sly wit were a perfect match for our family. One of my daughter's described her experience with Simon as a guide as "I'd call him the world's best shoeless, bird calling, chef and resourceful tour guide". Another one of my children stated "his schedule flexibility and park knowledge allowed us to have the greatest opportunity to see as many animals as possible".
Each day we rose early and headed out for an early morning drive followed by a darn good breakfast. After a short break, we headed back out for an afternoon/evening drive. We then returned to the camp for a dinner that was truly inspiring considering that we were "in the bush". Simon never failed to patiently answer questions (even silly ones) and pointed out interesting sights. My husband and I agree that he is the hardest working guy around. We highly recommend Wild Wings.
We saw the most amazing animals!!!
From Elise & Jean-Baptiste, Switzerland, travelled with us during December 2015
It was perfectly organized. All information was shared in advance and the support from the team in the office was perfect. They answered all questions and offered easy & fast solution to any problem. Simon (the guide) was extremely nice with interesting stories to share and great knowledge of the wildlife. He was always on time, well organized and reliable. In addition, Simon was a great cook!! We really enjoyed our breakfast and diners ;-) Last but not least: we saw the most amazing animals!!! For a 3 days safaris during a heat wave (37°C: animals tend to hide in such circumstances), it was really a gift to be able to see that much. Some people will say it is luck, but I think is also relates to the guide. He knew his stuff ;-) Thanks you Simon and Wild Wings Safaris team! We really enjoyed ourselves!!
A wonderful experience ...

Extraordinary luck with sightings ...
From John & Becky, USA, travelled with us during November 2015
Hi Clare, Overall, I'd say the trip/safari went great. All of the arrangements were exactly as described, the guides were top notch, and everything went very, very smoothly. No hiccups whatsoever.
Part one (Kruger/Skukuza): It was trivially easy to make the 10am connection to Nelspruit, which (as you know) is a small, but quite nice, airport. Neil arrived ~10 minutes early, which cut our leisurely lunch a bit short, but I can't complain. Neil is a great guide -- I'd certainly recommend him to anybody I knew who was going to Kruger. We had extraordinary luck with sightings -- in two days we saw four black rhinos, whereas Neil had previously only seen sixteen in his many years guiding. He does a great job of balancing animal sightings, education, interesting factoids, and the like. We quite enjoyed his meals, including the decision to do breakfast as the Skukuza Golf Club at the end of the morning game drive, instead of having him make breakfast. The golf club is great imho. Anyway, a clear A+ on this phase of the trip.
The transfer from Kruger to Gomo-Gomo was very nice and efficient. The driver was waiting for us when we arrived at the Protea (a few minutes early), the vehicle was quite nice, and the trip went completely smoothly. Another A+.
Part two (Gomo-Gomo): The facilities are certainly great - loved having the deck/pool overlooking the water hole. We lucked out one afternoon when a family of five elephants wandered down to drink, spray water, and have the baby frolic around in the mud. The food was great and they did a fantastic job of noting and responding to food restrictions (e.g., I do not eat fish and prefer not to eat bell peppers). I never had to say anything after the initial interview by Ross -- the staff simply replaced/adjusted my meals to eliminate the bits I did not like and brought the dishes to me -- I was surprised they remembered who was who and got it right. The only (slight) disappointment was that we had fairly poor luck with sightings, despite yeoman effort by Ross (ranger) and Dominic (guide). Likely just bad luck. I'm very satisfied with Gomo-Gomo and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Transfer back to JNB was long, but also very smooth and efficient. Overall, I'm very pleased with the safari.
WOW, what an unforgettable experience!
From Hillary & Eric, USA, travelled with us during November 2015
Dear Madi, We have returned from our trip to South Africa, and WOW, what an unforgettable experience! We wanted to thank you for taking care of our accommodations while on safari in greater Kruger park. It was definitely the highlight of our trip!
Our stay at Mohlebetsi Lodge was one of the best travel experiences of our lives. We arrived at the lush and pristine grounds and were greeted by friendly staff and refreshing tea at which point we were shown to our room, a private thatch-roof hut with lovely accommodations and an outdoor shower. There was a hand written note welcoming us as well a fresh flowers. The meals were delicious: beautiful fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, tasty meats. We were pleased to find that it was all very fresh products driving the menu rather than tourist-driven cuisine (we are not Americans who come to Africa to eat cheeseburgers!). The pool was refreshing and clean, the grounds were impeccable. One morning I discovered a plumeria tree and collected some of the fallen blooms to put in our room. The next morning I noted that the hospitality staff had replaced my, by now wilted blooms, with fresh ones! Something I found to be incredibly attentive and sweet! The game drives were the main activity of the lodge. Our ranger Hamilton, and trackers Sam and Sydney were amazing! We saw the big five plus hippo and the super rare African wild dog. They worked hard for all of us to get our sightings, driving hurriedly and far distances to catch a sighting of lion and wild dog. They also tracked and found a large bull elephant, an animal at the top of my list! Overall our trip was nothing short of magical. We have nothing but the highest recommendation of Mohlebetsi and are already planning a return trip!
I couldn't have had a better experience
From Jonathan, USA, travelled with us during November 2015
Clare, I had an amazing time at Gomo Gomo. Not only did I see all the big 5 in the first 2 drives but the entire experience was wonderful. Dean and Lou, the rangers, were very friendly and knowledgeable. The entire lodge staff was welcoming and nice. The food at the lodge was phenomenal. I couldn’t have had a better experience.
I told all my friends who have always wanted to go on a safari and I will recommend them to Gomo Gomo. Thank you for all your help too. I couldn’t have planned such an amazing vacation without you.
The safari drives were spectacular.
From Liisa, Finland, travelled with us during November 2015
Hi Claire, Thank you for making it possible for us to go to Gomo Gomo. We were more than pleased. Our bungalow was very cosy, clean and all amenities worked well. And the porch was wonderful although we enjoyed wery much siting by the waterhole in front of the lodge. There was a hippo with10 turtles on its back when elephants, antilopes and buffalos came to drink and a crocodile was swimming close by. Monkies were running around. On our last day we saw there a heard of at least 1 000 buffalos. The safari drives were spectacular. We mist the leopard but saw all the others of the big 5. It suited us that the rainy season had not started, so moskitos did not bother us. It was so interesting to see wild life and enjoy the surroundings that even the hot weather close to 40 C did not bother us. Food was good and abundant.
It was quite exciting on our first night when electricity went out of order and after a while aggregate stopped working. I suppose this is commonin Africa. It was a real experience to hear baboons quarel and elephants bath in the dark night.
Premier Inn at OR Tambo Airport was an excellent choise. Thank you for recommending it. Best regards ...
All went very smoothly indeed.
From Christine, UK, travelled with us during October 2015
Many thanks for the organising of our trip to Gondwana Game Reserve and recommending the beautiful self-catering accommodation on the seafront at Herald,s bay.We thought both were fantastic. The service, meals and facilities at the Game Reserve were outstanding and our 2 game drives very productive saw lots of animals ,and we really enjoyed the sun downer drive and seeing all the stars, absolutely wonderful The guide was great too.I would recommend the game lodge if you only have 2-3 days as we did.
Your advice was very helpful prior to me making the booking and all went very smoothly indeed.
Despite the fact that I managed to break my ankle just 12 hours after I arrived in George, most unfortunate I couldn't participate much in the voluntary work that I had gone to south Africa to do, but despite that we both had a memorable and enjoyable time
Once again many thanks
Truly A Vacation of a Lifetime
From Debbie, United States, travelled with us during October 2015
I cannot imagine being more pleased with a safari experience than we were with the one booked by Madi at Wild Wings Safaris. We planned the trip with very short notice, but nothing seemed to rattle her. We were in constant contact for about 5 days, even considering the 8 hour time difference, and she answered all questions with lots of knowledge and not any pressure. We spent 2 nights in 3 different safari locations - Chobe National Park, Kruger National Park, and San Sabi [Sabi Sand] private game reserve. We were glad we chose all three, as they were all very different. The river cruise option in Chobe was wonderful.
We have nothing but praise for our Kruger experience in Skukuza Rest Camp with Simon as our guide. Not only was he very knowledgeable, but very personable and incredibly hard working. He prepared great meals, accommodated every request, and undoubtedly found and pointed out SO MUCH more than you would ever see on your own. At the Idube Lodge in San Sabi, we were lucky enough to see a wild dog kill, plus a pride of lions feeding on an elephant which had died from an undetermined cause at the time we left, plus two very up close and personal leopard sightings. The private reserve lodging was very luxurious and appreciated, but you can't beat the affordability and personal attention provided by Simon at Skukuza Rest Camp.
Madi was also incredibly helpful in planning what we might do for a couple of days in Johannesburg and provided great insight. She provided helpful suggestions of tours and which airlines to use for all of the flights we booked ourselves for our 5-week long trip. In addition to the safaris, we booked a side trip to Victoria Falls and then spent 3 weeks on our own driving the Garden Route between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. All of her arranged transfers worked flawlessly. It was truly a vacation of a lifetime.
I loved every minute of it
From Jonathan & Alison, UK, travelled with us during October 2015
Well, it was always going to be the holiday of a lifetime, and it most certainly lived up to that expectation. I loved every minute of it.
You were very helpful throughout the booking process, right up to the final few days before we left. Thank you. The information you gave us was very helpful and covered everything we needed to know.
The road transfers were long, but comfortable and I found them interesting. As there were only Simon, my wife and me on board for the majority of the time it was very easy going. The vehicle was not cramped and was comfortable.
The accommodation was fine for our needs; I can't think of any recommendations I would have in respect of the accommodation or facilities within. We preferred Satara to Skukuza - Satara seemed more intimate and less busy, but then Skukuza did have the lovely view over the river. We never did find (or look for) the swimming pools at either camp, but perhaps if we had been there longer, or if it had been much hotter, we might have done.
The meals were amazing, not just because Simon cooked them all, but they were varied and plentiful. The ostrich steaks were especially good, but each evening the meal was excellent, with something for everyone. Simon easily catered for a vegetarian, and was happy for people to eat lots or little. Breakfast again was plentiful, with lots of choices and enough to keep you going for several hours. Table cloths at every meal, and cutlery, glasses, etc. Top job (even if he didn't enjoy the washing up).
Simon was an amazing driver, cook, guide and friend (I hope). He was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the wildlife and surroundings. He showed a remarkable ability to spot wildlife and point out new birds or creatures. At one place we stopped and there were several small birds calling - Simon guessed that there must be a snake or other predator nearby then sure enough he spotted a Boomslang in a bush. That was typical - putting his knowledge and experience to good use and getting a result from it. I particularly enjoyed his birding skills and found him very knowledgeable on all aspects of birdlife in South Africa. Excellent. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to go birding in South Africa.
The game viewing was superb - a wealth of animals, all the big five, and six of the super seven. Simon was always happy to stop so we could look at animals, birds, plants etc and would stop the engine if any of us were taking photos. He would wait until we were finished before starting off again.
All in alll, I would recommend Wild-Wings Safaris to anyone wanting to take a safari in Southern Africa. I couldn't fault it, and might just have to come back again myself.
