Eight luxury suites
Simbavati Waterside has eight secluded en-suite luxury suites, each positioned to afford complete privacy. There are two water-facing luxury suites, four two-bedroom water-facing luxury suites (ideal for families), and two bush-facing luxury suites with outdoor wood-fired private plunge tubs.
All eight luxury suites have king-sized beds which can be converted to twin beds on request, private game-viewing decks, en-suite bathrooms with a bathtub, a double vanity and indoor and outdoor showers, a minibar, tea- and coffee-making facilities, air-conditioning and ceiling fans.
Water-facing main lodge
The spacious, contemporary main lodge has a beautiful water-facing viewing deck where guests can immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of wild animals gathering at the dam to drink. Simbavati Waterside's lounge area provides ample social spaces for families and friends, and complimentary WiFi is available in all areas. There is an outside dining area, a bar, a water-facing open-air boma and campfire, a well-stocked wine cellar, a safari spa, a fitness centre, a safari boutique shop and an outdoor swimming pool.
Shilope sleepout deck
Simbavati Waterside offers couples the chance to experience something unique: the romantic Shilope sleepout deck. The lower deck has a king-sized bed, a bathroom with an outdoor shower, a single vanity and toilet, a ceiling fan, a camping fridge/freezer and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The upper deck, which has a stargazing bed and pillows, seating and a table, solar lanterns and cosy blankets, offers 360° views over Klaserie Private Nature Reserve and the Drakensberg mountain range in the distance.
Game-viewing activities
Early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives take place in open safari vehicles in wildlife-rich Klaserie Private Nature Reserve with a maximum of eight guests per safari vehicle. Other activities at Simbavati Waterside include bushwalks (subject to availability), stargazing, sundowners and family safaris.
Getting there
By air - You can fly from Cape Town or Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport. From there, you will take a 30-minute shared transfer to Simbavati Waterside.
By road - Simbavati Waterside can be reached by road from Johannesburg via Polokwane (recommended route) or Dullstroom. The trip takes about 7 hours. It's a 2- to 3-hour trip from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport or Hazyview.
