Luxury accommodation with excellent privacy
There are just only eight luxurious pavilion-style safari tents, carefully spaced far enough away from each other to ensure your privacy. Each suite is made up of two individual tents comprising a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. One of the tent sides can be opened up to create an indoor or outdoor private shower experience with breathtaking views of your surroundings. Great care has been taken to use only natural building materials. The tents are on raised decks which are connected by wooden walkways.
Varied game activities
Simbavati Hilltop Lodge offers Big 5 game viewing activities twice a day; once in the early morning and again in the late afternoon and early evening which is when the wildlife is at its most active. On night drives, you'll have an excellent chance to see the rare and shy nocturnal species, especially the big cats like leopards. Over 40 mammal species frequent the Timbavati Game Reserve, including the Big 5 as well as endangered species like African wild dogs and cheetah. Home to over 360 bird species, the Timbavati is a bird lover's paradise. Of course, the Timbavati is also home to the famous, rare white lion.
Getting there
By air - Regular flights connect Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport to Hoedspruit's Eastgate Airport. From there, it's a one-hour drive to the lodge.
By road - Simbavati Hilltop Lodge is an easy seven-hour drive from Johannesburg. Road transfers are also available.
