The logistics were perfect. The guides and transfers were all on time, courteous and friendly which made for a completely stress-free experience. The Wild Wings Safaris portion of our trip exceeded all of our expectations, both in terms of game viewing but also the team that provided this for us.
Our guide was Happy. Happy was brilliant, he took the time to explain so much and went into detail about all the animals, not just the Big 5. He was keen to show us as much as possible and the entire family enjoyed our time with him. We managed to see all the major animals multiple times over, often being the only vehicle present. We can't recommend Wild Wings Safaris and Happy highly enough.
The other highlight was John and his cooking. We were a little unsure about what to expect with the "home-cooked" meals but it was like having our own personal chef! John's passion for his cooking really shone through. The food was really good and the dinners and breakfasts were a really pleasant experience spent enjoying fantastic food and chatting to Happy and John about the Kruger.
After such a stunning safari with Happy and John, Mohlesbesti had a lot to live up to. It was really interesting experiencing the difference with a private game lodge. It is a lot more structured in terms of your day and the lodge was very nice and comfortable. You do also get really close to the animals as the vehicles can go off-road.
Many thanks for preparing such a wonderful experience for us. If we have friends looking at coming over to Africa, we will most definitely recommend Wild Wings.

5 Day Kruger Park and Private Lodge Safari
A guided safari in Kruger Park (using the national park camps) is quite different to a safari at a private game lodge. Both have their advantages. This trip idea combines two nights in Kruger, followed by two nights at a private game lodge for you to experience the best of both worlds. All game drives in open vehicles with expert and knowledgeable guides.

Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge in the Balule Game Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park is affordable and intimate and offers comfortable accommodation in African-style thatched rondavels and family units. The lodge has beautiful lawns and giant trees and overlooks the bush and a distant waterhole.
AfricaSky Guest House, OR Tambo International
Set in a quiet, leafy garden, AfricaSky is a 4-star guest house located 10 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg. It's also 10 minutes to nearby Rhodesfield Station, from where it's a further 11-minute ride on the Gautrain to the heart of Sandton. It's an ideal stopover before or after your safari or onward travel plans.
