Surrounded by small bouldered hills and grass floodplains in the northern reaches of Hwange National Park, Robins Camp is an affordable safari lodge that welcomes children of all ages.

Acacia Chalets

Suitable for large private groups and families with children, Robins Camp's Acacia Chalets consist of 18 thatched units with handpainted Matabele art. There are 16 standard chalets and two triple chalets, all of which have en-suite bathrooms, overhead fans, mosquito nets and king-size or twin beds depending on the guests' preferences. Eight of the chalets form a circle around a central lapa area which makes them the perfect choice for intergenerational families or groups of friends.

Mopane Chalets

More contemporary in style and decorated with recycled, local items by a designer from the area, the 18 standard Mopane Chalets have private, covered verandahs, en-suite bathrooms, overhead fans and mosquito nets over king- or twin-sized beds.

The main lodge

Robins Camp's onsite restaurant, which caters to most dietary requirements, serves full continental and cooked breakfasts, both an a la carte and a buffet lunch and a three-course dinner. Guests are welcome to take a dip in the swimming pool between game drives and order refreshing beverages from the Hyena Bar between 10h30 and 22h30 daily. For those who want to experience the best sunrise and sunset view in Hwange, Robins Tower is the highest building in the park and it's well worth the climb to the top. WiFi is available in the Hyena Bar, dining room and pool areas and Internet vouchers can be purchased at Reception.

Game viewing at Robins Camp

Early morning and late afternoon game drives are conducted by Robins Camp's safari guides and optional walking safaris are available on request. Wildlife encounters range from elephant, tsessebe, roan, reedbuck, sable and other species of game found in Hwange. Due to the area's abundant springs, huge herds of buffalo are drawn by the availability of natural water and this in turn sustains a large population of lions and ensures regular cheetah and African wild dog sightings.

Tripadvisor review of Robins Camp

"Robins Camp is excellent value for money - without being a high-end luxury safari, it offers great accommodation, food and service without being 'over the top' and the guides are brilliant... lodges are well refurbished and clean and comfy." —Lin G from Aug 2023
