Families or small groups of friends can book the Charlsy Suite whose two interleading en-suite rooms are joined by a cosy common lounge area with a waterhole view and private swimming pool.
Main area
The lodge has a plush lounge, bar and dining room area and an open-sided relaxation area looking out over the pool. The large viewing deck has a wonderful view of the waterhole and the animals that frequent it. The lodge also has a cosy library area and internet facilities to keep visitors informed and up-to-date.
Meals at Chitwa are African/Mediterranean fusion and are enjoyed at lunchtimes next to the pool under the thatched Lapa, in the evenings in the open-air boma (traditional African reed enclosure) or in the elegant dining room. Chitwa is the ideal venue for an African style wedding or honeymoon and staff will meticulously take care of all the arrangements, thereby relieving you of the stress of organisation.
Game viewing activities
There is plenty to do at Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are lead by experienced and enthusiastic guides and trackers. The evening game drive is punctuated by sundowners under shady Knobthorn trees and is continued as a night drive in search of nocturnal creatures.
Daily guided bushwalks will bring you closer to the smaller wonders of the bush, or alternatively, you could always stay at the lodge for a pampering massage! Children are welcomed at Chitwa Chitwa and are offered special activities geared to educate and entertain.

Our take on Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge
Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge is an impressive lodge in a stunning location. It's pricey, but the size of the suites, the location of the lodge overlooking the waterhole, and the quality of game viewing in the northern Sabi Sand make this an excellent choice for a luxury safari getaway. The food was good but for us, the biggest selling point is the stunning view over the waterhole, where there always seems to be something interesting to look at, from resident birds, hippos and crocs to the coming and going of elephants, herds of buffalo and lots of other wildlife, especially during the dry season from June to October.
