It was indeed an awesome trip!
From Jeffrey, Singapore, travelled with us during August 2017
Clare, thanks for your suggestions and help to put together this itinerary! We went to Victoria Falls, Cape Town and Kruger (both the national park and a private game reserve). It was indeed an awesome trip! Your suggestions and information made a great difference! Thanks so much for your help! I will happily refer my friends who wish to travel to South Africa and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) to you!
Our Safari Was Fantastic From Start to Finish!
From Victoria, UK, travelled with us during August 2017
Hi Madi, our safari was fantastic from start to finish! Nicky was very punctual and efficient. She knew where to look for game and was a great driver. She also gave us lots of information and facts about different animals in Kruger as well as about South Africa in general, which was really interesting. We were super lucky to see a whole pack of wild dog as well as leopard twice and black rhino as well as all the usual suspects. Nicky was also an amazing cook! The steak she braai-ed was one of the best I've ever tasted and I am about to email her to ask her for her East African Curry recipe!
Arranging the safari was very easy and I think your level of contact was just right. Your speed at replying to my emails & questions was also great.
Our accommodation at Skukuza was great - clean, spacious and just right for us. It would have been nice to have had the other people that were on our tour in a bungalow beside us, but I don't think that can really be helped as it's such a busy camp.
Thank you so much for all your help and we will definitely recommend Wild Wings to friends who are thinking about doing a safari in Kruger or travelling around South Africa.
I hope one day I can return to do another safari!
Thank Wild Wings for the perfect organization of our tour
From Anna, Antonella, Barbara & Paola, Italy, travelled with us during August 2017
Let us thank Wild Wings for the perfect organization of our tour since the first day we arrived in South Africa!
Thanks to David who picked us up at the airport and gave us the first "taste" of the country and was so gentle with us during the time we spent together.
Kruger Park was a strong emotion for all our senses; not just for the wonderful animals we were so lucky to see ( 5 leopards!!!!) but also for the wonderful landscapes, dawns, sun rises, shooting stars that enriched our holidays at Kruger.
Last but not least thanks to our guide Simon for sharing with us his deep knowledge of Wildlife and his perfect organization of our time during our Safari. Much appreciated because he had to deal with four Italian ladies on holiday!!!
Wishing to meet you in a next Safari.
Everything Far Exceeded Our Expectations!!
From Brian & Alison, USA, travelled with us during August 2017
Mariana, We absolutely LOVED our time in Kruger as well as at Inyati! Everything far exceeded our expectations!!! :)
Simon, our guide in Kruger, was phenomenal! We can't speak highly enough about him! He is truly spectacular at what he does!
Inyati was fabulous! Our accommodation and the service there were excellent!
We were able to see the big 5 multiple times as well as many other incredible animals!
Our entire trip was top notch! Thank you again for all of your help with the planning!
Could Not Have Been Better
From Craig & Family, USA, travelled with us during August 2017
Clare, This was a bucket list trip with the entire family; it could not have been better. We spent 3 weeks of the most enjoyable travel for us who are widely traveled throughout the world over many years.
All arrangements were made by Wild Wings, including a last-minute change in lodge accommodation due to a devastating fire in Knysna only a couple of weeks before we were to depart.
We began our safaris at Rhino River Lodge in Kwa-Zulu Natal where we saw every expected animal except leopards. Our guides and the service provided by the staff of the Lodge were excellent. We also had the good fortune to observe the work of the staff of the reserve in which Rhino River Lodge is located in their efforts at preventing poaching of rhinos for their horns.
Our next couple of days, at Lidiko Lodge in St. Lucia and our viewing of hippos and crocodiles, plus a road trip to Cape Vidal were similarly rewarding. The personal service at Lidiko was above expectations; I use crutches to get around and was aided whenever needed. Our driver/guide between Rhino River Lodge and St. Lucia and then back to Durban made the road trips almost like a roadway “safari” because of his pointing out sites and animals along the way.
After flying to Nelspruit, we were met by Edward, of GAP Tours and Transfers who delivered us to Hippo Hollow Country House and on the next day hosted us on a Panoramic Route tour. Edward, who was also a guide, made every road trip memorable because of all the information he provided us with respect to everything we saw. He went out of his way to answer our questions, including showing us sites we would’ve otherwise missed including the village in which he lives.
While at Hippo Hollow we visited Elephant Whisperers which included a demonstration of the elephant’s skills and an opportunity to touch one, something particularly enjoyed by our granddaughter.
Edward then transported us to Inyati Lodge in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Here we enjoyed the most memorable morning and evening safaris which included multiple sightings of leopards, lions, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, hippos, wildebeest, Cape buffalo, multiple species of antelope as well as many birds.
The most exciting sighting was of a pangolin; an endangered ant-eater rarely seen, in fact not seen previously by some of our guides.
During one evening safari, we experienced tracking a female leopard within the Inyati campsite and observed her marking her territory, including our cabin. Once again, food, service, and ambiance were spectacular.
Edward delivered us back to the Nelspruit airport for the last part of our trip which included Cape Town, Kirstenbosch Gardens, Table Mountain, Cape Point, the West Coast and part of the Garden Route.
Shawn Nicholson of African Experience met us at the airport and transported us and guided all our tours for the next 8 days. Shawn not only provided us with great descriptions of everything we were experiencing, accommodated my limited walking ability and adjusted the botanical sites visited to ensure that we could see the wildflowers of this part of South Africa in spite of their not being as prevalent as usual because of the current drought.
We saw landscapes that we didn’t know existed and were always guided to restaurants and two wineries that were excellent in every way.
Could we have asked for more; not in my estimation based on travel experiences over a period of 50 years.
What an amazing experience!
From Ari & Julie Anne, USA, travelled with us during August 2017
Corlie, What an amazing experience. The only downside was it had to end. From start to finish, your company has been amazing.
Marc was an incredible guide, answering every question, working overtime to make sure we had the full experience.
Jon's food was incredible and his personality livened up every meal. Wildwings is amazing. The only question is when can we return for another adventure.
Thank you to everyone including Simon for such an amazing experience.
We Literally Had The Best, Best, Best Time!
From Jason, USA, travelled with us during August 2017
Clare - What a trip!!! And YOU… are the reason we had the experience of a lifetime!!! I have said so in every review I have written about WWS specifically naming you as the master of delight! From the very moment you helped understand the vision for our visit, to the simple perfection of every experience, every guide, every transfer, every check-in, every everything you touched, we had the most unbelievable experience. I have already shared that none of my friends and colleagues should look any further when it comes to planning their own experience because WWS is the only place to do it right (as far as we are concerned).
We literally had the best, best, best time! I cannot thank you enough for helping to make it possible. I shared a few photos from the experience, but even they do not do justice to describe the way we all feel about our visit.
By the way, Machaton Private Camp was the most incredible experience - we would return in a heartbeat. A gem of a find and all because of the staff!!!!! Truly amazing!!!!
Many thanks, again, and again, for the special memories!!!
The trip exceeded our expectations
From Trish & Ryan, USA, travelled with us during July 2017
Hi Madi, We wanted to send many thanks to you for your help in organizing our trip to Africa. We had a fantastic time and the trip exceeded our expectations. You were very understanding and patient when we had to reschedule from April to July.
Both Victoria Falls & Mohlabetsi Safari Lodges were beautiful. We couldn't have asked for better staff and guides. All the people we met were wonderful.
Simon is awesome (and he's not even paying us to say that). He was great company, making our drives and meals that much more enjoyable. We shared many laughs and we feel so much more knowledgeable thanks to his expertise.
Thanks again for this experience. We know who we'll be recommending to anyone who wants to travel to Africa.
I just cannot even put into words, how satisfied we were ...
From Sharon & MIchael, USA, travelled with us during July 2017
From the moment we started communication with Clare at Wild Wings, I was impressed with her assistance.
They were very professional, had top-notch & above customer service, answered every question/email in very reasonable time and were just so helpful and more importantly priced very fairly. I would definitely recommend and use Wild Wings Safari again.
As for our actual safari - I just cannot even put into words, how satisfied we were with our guide Simon - he was top-notch knowledgeable and not only that, his love for what he does shines through. We learned so much from Simon - we saw everything we were hoping for and more!!
Simon really went out of his way to try to get us to see all the big 5 (because even he can't guarantee it - every safari is different - it's all dependent on the animals) and we not only saw the big 5 - but we saw them multiple times and much, much more!!
Simon - thank you - we truly believe that our experience was what it was because of you. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you, getting to know you and your cooking was fantastic (even from this very picky eater!).
Fantastic game drives
From Micky, Swaziland, travelled with us during July 2017
Hello Cathari, WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME !!!
Big thanks to Nicky who did a great job. Fantastic game drives (although preety cold early mornings), good food and always felt really well looked after. Great compliment to the whole Wild Wings Team. In addition, we were also very lucky to be at the right place at the right time. Keep up the good work. We'll be happy to recommend you to our friends.
The Trip Was Excellent From Arrival to Departure
From Bengt, Saudi Arabia, travelled with us during July 2017
Madi, The trip was excellent from arrival in Johannesburg to departure again. Armand was an excellent guide and John an excellent chef. The trip worked out fine and we saw many animals and of great variety. I liked trying the very expensive and exotic lens that you help me renting. It did give an extra bump to the picture quality even if I was perhaps not a master of using it.
Armand was an excellent photo guide. He knows where to stop and what angles to use to get best possible pictures. He could also track down the animals with his wide network within Kruger. We got good pictures of all the big five and more. Two Cheetahs were found far north of Satara.
If you like to take a look at our photos from the trip the Dropbox link I just sent can be used, please let me know if the link works and if you like more. Best regards.
Everything was truly great!
From Ksenija, Croatia, travelled with us during July 2017
Dear Madi, We were really very satisfied with everything you scheduled for our group - from the pick up at the airport upon our arrival to SA and arranging for our skis and boots to be picked up at Tambo and then drive to Kruger where we had more than wonderful time. We consider ourselves lucky for having Simon with our group - he is really a master of his job, and he loves doing it...so we also felt good with him around. We managed to see the big 5 and more, and enjoyed every minute to the blast....also in our meals given that Jacques (sorry if I misspelt his name) is an excellent cook and dining in the Skukuza is something extraordinary by itself...The accommodation there was also nice, although basic - but to our expectations.
Africa Sky was great - everyone there so nice and friendly. Very nice rooms and service - enjoyed it very much. They were so helpful with our transfers to Tambo on our way to Cape Town and back. Everything with the rentals went more than well- they provided us with the hard top Fords 4x4 which took us safely to Lesotho. Skiing was nice, weather too...and we won some medals too!
Rouge on Rose was also phenomenal - I am repeating myself...-:)) but what can I say! It really was - the hotel is so nice and extraordinary in several ways - from the entire interior to marvellous rooms to phenomenal staff....I would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone! And they took extra effort (so did you) in returning the hat that was left in the van on our trip back to Joburg from Kruger - lady was so happy to wear it in the plane back to Zagreb! We were picked up by Simone, who took us around and we enjoyed her company very much...not to mention the city and surroundings....astonishing!
Everything you did for us was truly great. Thank you for the effort - if there is more people like you and Simon, world would be a much better place. I would (and will) highly recommend the Wild Wings Safaris. You guys now your job! [sic]
