Safari experience
Guests enjoy twice-daily game drives in open safari vehicles, exploring the diverse landscapes of Pilanesberg National Park.
The reserve's varied habitats of open plains, wooded valleys and waterholes support a wide range of wildlife, including elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and numerous plains game species.
Game drives are conducted in shared vehicles seating up to nine guests, led by experienced rangers.

Tshukudu Bush Lodge offers a collection of rustic thatched chalets, each positioned along the hillside with views over the surrounding bush.
The lodge has a relaxed, traditional safari feel with a small main area where guests gather for meals and evening drinks.

Getting there
By road, Pilanesberg National Park is approximately 2.5–3 hours from Johannesburg. Guests arriving by self-drive should check in at Bakubung Bush Lodge reception by 13h30, where the lodge team coordinates transfers into the reserve.
Please note that Tshukudu Bush Lodge operates one scheduled transfer per day from Bakubung to the lodge. The transfer into the reserve forms part of the safari experience

Tshukudu is one of the most intimate safari lodges in Pilanesberg and works particularly well for couples looking for a quieter bush escape close to Johannesburg.
For the full Tshukudu bush experience, there are no televisions, radios or telephones in the rooms, and mobile phone reception is very limited. Evenings revolve around excellent multi-course meals served in the dining room or around the bush boma when weather permits, which adds to the lodge's relaxed and immersive atmosphere.
One practical consideration: the lodge is reached via approximately 130 steps, so it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or those uncomfortable with stairs.
