Camp Shawu
Camp Shawu is situated in a private concession area within the famous Kruger National Park, South Africa. Named after a magnificent elephant bull that frequents the area, the camp offers luxury accommodation for only 10 guests, with beautiful views over the Mpanamana Dam. In the dry season, a variety of animals gather at the dam to drink. Camp Shawu shares a vast concession area with Camp Shonga and Shishangeni Lodge, in the south-eastern part of the Kruger Park, which has an abundance of wildlife.

Recently refurbished (January 2017), Camp Shawu can accommodate 10 guests in pure African luxury. Situated in a 15,000-hectare private concession within the world-renowned Kruger National Park, it has five rooms overlooking the active Mpanamana Dam.
Authentic African-Style Accommodation
The luxury rooms have thatched roofs and authentic buffalo-dung walls. Each suite has a balcony with a wooden deck area and recliner chairs, a lounge area, fireplace, new baths, an outside shower and a ceiling fan.
Superb Game Viewing
Guests can enjoy the finest open safari vehicle game drives that South Africa has to offer and explore a wide variety of wildlife, including the Big 5. Two daily game drives are included. Bird watching is always very rewarding here. Self-drive safaris can also be done from Camp Shawu, on the Kruger Park's network of roads.
Spacious Main Lodge
The lodge boasts a sprawling lounge area, restaurant, bar and swimming pool, as well as a fantastic viewing deck overlooking the massive dam which receives a host of game visitors throughout the day.
Getting There
By road: Camp Shawu is a good 5-hour drive from OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg and a 2-hour trip from Nelspruit. Road transfers are available and easily arranged.
By air: regularly scheduled flights connect to both Skukuza and Nelspruit Airports.
