More about this accommodation
In a scenic corner of Laikipia, Solio Lodge is in one of the most successful game conservancy areas of Kenya – with a rich wildlife which includes both species of rhino, buffalo, eland, oryx, impala, waterbuck, Thomson’s gazelle, warthog and the big cats including lion, leopard and cheetah. The lodge is closed for the month of November, during the height of the rainy season.
Private, comfortable safari lodge
Solio has only five luxurious and spacious cottages, spaced far enough to ensure privacy. Each has large windows and private verandas that give you spectacular views over Mount Kenya and the abundant herds that make the Laikipia their home. Each cottage is spacious with a lounge area and open fireplace. The enormous en-suite bathrooms have double basins, bath and separate shower and a dressing area. Children of all ages are welcome at Solio Lodge - one of the cottages can be turned into an interconnected family unit with two en-suite bedrooms, sleeping up to five guests. Solio Lodge is on the Kenyan highlands and you'll find the days are generally warm, but nights can be cooler. As it's close to the equator, temperatures are fairly constant throughout the year.
