More about this accommodation
The 10 suites, or tree houses, are scattered amongst the mahogany forest, built on stilts into the canopy of the trees. Each suite has a spacious bedroom and en-suite bathroom with a free-standing bath and outdoor shower behind a bamboo screen. The suites are open and airy, with screens for mosquitoes, giving wonderful views into the forest and from your private wooden veranda. Woodchip paths lead between the tree houses and the main lodge.
Due to the lodge being unfenced, a guard is always on hand to escort you from your tree house to the lodge.
Main Lodge Area
The lodge blends into the forest, with its high thatched roof and split level decks incorporating dining and sitting areas and the open, interactive kitchen. Outside, a welcoming pool and beautiful dining boma are set amongst the trees.
A small shop at the lodge sells fabulous gifts to take home, and some necessities, and the spa offers great pampering!
Game Viewing Activities
Morning, afternoon and night drives through Lake Manyara National Park can be organised. Expect to see multitudes of baboons, plenty of elephant, blue monkeys, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, tiny dik-diks and the intriguing tree-climbing lions. Be sure to look up to spot them lazing in the acacia trees.
With a surprisingly diverse number of habitats in a small area – forest, grassy floodplains, the lake itself and acacia woodland – the park provides home to a wide range of animals and incredible birdlife. It’s a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 400 species, including pink-plumed flamingos and many raptors.
By Road: Lake Manyara National Park is about 150 km from Arusha (about a 2- to 3-hour drive), and the lodge is situated in the far south of the park.
By Air: Arusha is served by two airports. Arusha Airport has daily flights from numerous local destinations and Kilimanjaro International Airport has daily flights from local, African and international airlines. Flights can be booked from Arusha to Manyara Airstrip (30-minute flight, followed by a 3.5 hour game drive, to reach the lodge).
