Kirkman's Kamp is a colonial-style, 5-star lodge reminiscent of the 1920s era, with its origins as a traditional South African homestead. It is situated in the Sabi Sand Reserve, famous for its excellent Big 5 game viewing. Kirkman's occupies one of the most elevated sites in the Sabi Sands Reserve, ensuring endless views of pristine wilderness and the Sand River, which flows most of the year round. The area is reputed to have the greatest diversification of animal species on the African Continent.

- Southern Sabi Sand for excellent game viewing
- Luxury colonial-style suites with private verandahs
- 2 daily game drives in open safari vehicles
- Infinity swimming pool
- Tennis Court & Gym
Recently refurbished (Dec. 2015), Kirkman's Kamp is situated in the famous Sabi Sand Reserve. Originally a 1920s South African homestead, this gracious colonial-style game lodge comprises 18 guest cottages, accommodating a maximum of 36 guests.
The Elegance of Bygone Days
The décor of the en-suite cottages is classical with nuances of the 1920s, but with thoroughly modern luxury and convenience. All cottages have fans and air-conditioning with their own private veranda affording views over the unspoilt bush.
Luxurious Main Lodge
The lodge has a swimming pool, tennis court, gym and curio shop. Guests can relax between game-viewing activities on the spacious veranda or out on the manicured lawns. The lodge also has an interesting library and comfortable guest sitting room.
Delicious Dining Indoors - or Alfresco
Mouth-watering meals can be enjoyed inside in the lodge dining room or outside on the shady veranda, in the boma (African reed enclosure) or surrounded by the lantern-lit African bush. Meal times are an occasion at Kirkman's.
Excellent Game Viewing
Kirkman's offers daily and nightly game drives in open 4x4 vehicles which offer great game-viewing opportunities. Daily bushwalks within comfortable reach of the lodge are conducted by an armed ranger. Because Kirkman's shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and Mala Mala Game Reserves, large herds of animals are able to migrate freely to the perennial Sand River. This area is well known for its excellent sightings of leopard as well as the other Big 5.
Guests can easily get to the lodge by air or road. The 450 km drive from Johannesburg to Kirkman's takes about 5 hours. Alternatively, flights are available from Johannesburg to Nelspruit (75-80 km from Kirkman's) or you can fly directly to the lodge.

Nottens Bush Camp is an affordable, rustic and comfortable Safari Lodge in the southern sector of the Sabi Sand Reserve. The lodge accommodates guests in seven tastefully furbished suites, all en-suite with a private viewing deck which overlooks a large plain and watering hole.
A self-drive tour that takes in some of the best highlights South Africa has to offer: the famous Kruger National Park; the forests and waterways of Isimangaliso (Greater St Lucia) Wetlands World Heritage Site; pristine, untouched beaches; absorbing the Zulu culture and impressive history of the KwaZulu-Natal battlefields. This trip can also be shortened to 9 days by excluding the battlefields. We recommend doing this on a self-drive basis but transfers can be arranged.
