Chestnut Country Lodge
Chestnut Country Lodge is located in the beautiful farming district of Kiepersol, 10 km from Hazyview in Mpumalanga and ideally situated for exploring the magnificent Panorama Route. The lodge is set in the heart of 50 hectares of pristine indigenous bushland and offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for 26 guests.

Chestnut Country Lodge offers eight standard double or twin-bedded rooms and four very spacious luxury suites, each with its own patio from which to enjoy the magnificent views of the Sabie Valley and mountains. All rooms and suites are individually and tastefully decorated and all have en-suite bathrooms. The newly appointed Chestnut Suite is ideal for honeymoon couples and romantic get-always. The suite offers a king-size bed, separate lounge area, large bathroom for two and double vanities. The privately enclosed patio has an outside shower.
Facilities at the lodge include a large swimming pool and deck, with a fabulous view and great opportunities for bird watching. Take a leisurely walk to the beautiful look-out point Leopard Rock. The cosy bar and lounge are ideal for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing and game-viewing. Chestnut Country Lodge offers superb dining, ranging from a full English breakfast in the morning to candle-lit dinners prepared using only the freshest local produce.
Chestnut Country Lodge is ideally positioned for visiting all the major attractions of Mpumalanga and the scenic Panorama Route, including God's Window, Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes, the picturesque historic mining town of Pilgrims Rest as well as the many beautiful waterfalls in and around Sabie. The world-famous Kruger National Park is the premier tourist attraction in the area and easily accessed through the Numbi Gate, Phabeni Gate or Paul Kruger Gate, all within 20-45 minutes' drive from Chestnut Country Lodge. Morning, afternoon, full day and night game-drives led by an experienced game ranger, can be arranged upon request.
Other recreational activities in the area include river rafting, horse riding, abseiling, walking trails, quad biking, hot air ballooning, bridge swing and helicopter flights. Visit the nearby Elephant Whispers for a unique interactive experience with elephants, Hoedspruit Research and Breeding Centre for Endangered Species, The Cheetah Project as well as the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. Should you wish to have a cultural experience with a Shangaan choir, drummers and gum-boot dancers, this can also be arranged.
