More about this accommodation
Camp Moremi accommodates 24 guests in 11 East African-styled mosquito-proof tents on raised teak platforms and one family suite. Each room has a private bathroom with hot showers, flushing toilet and bathrobes as well as tea and coffee making facilities, an electric fan and a private viewing deck overlooking the spectacular Xakanaxa Lagoon.
The focal point of the camp is the magnificent elevated Moremi Tree Lodge that rests in the shade of ancient ebony trees and overlooks the Xakanaxa Lagoon. Spacious and comfortable, there's a main lounge, dining room, cocktail bar and wildlife reference library as well as an inviting pool.
Evening meals are usually served in the open-sided dining room and, on some evenings, you may even be serenaded by the talented staff choir. Breakfast, brunch and high tea can be enjoyed in the shade of the thatched boma.
The Moremi Game Reserve is home to the most diverse animal populations in Botswana, comprising the Okavango Delta, savanna areas, flood plains and perennial rivers. Game drives offer you opportunities to see the many species that abound in this area.
Experienced, knowledgeable nature guides conduct game drives daily, in the morning and late afternoon. Your chances of encountering lion, elephant, leopard and buffalo are extremely good here. With some luck, you may also see cheetah and wild dogs here. There are no perimeter or game fences so wildlife moves freely within the reserve.
Birding is especially rewarding from November - April.
A chartered powerboat is available to those keen fishermen who wish to explore the local channels and the Xakanaka Lagoon at their leisure (catch and release basis).
By air: Light aircraft flights connect to Xakanaxa Airstrip from where it is approximately a 25-minute drive to camp.
Flying times: to/from Maun - 25 minutes, to/from Kasane - 75 minutes.
