The Blyde River Canyon's most spectacular viewpoints (Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Pinnacle, God's Window and the Three Rondavels) are all within easy reach.

Blyde Mountain Country House offers 9 welcoming, organically-designed and air-conditioned bedrooms, and 6 self-catering units, all with satellite TV, king-sized bed, lofty thatched ceilings with big fans and stable doors opening onto the garden and/or canyon views. The rooms are decorated with local artwork, masks and pots. Two separate units are ideally suited for families with children.

Outside you will find a relaxing terrace and an elevated 10m x 10m swimming pool among the baobab trees. The complex is surrounded by a fascinating selection of indigenous trees and bushes. Birdlife abounds, with over 200 species listed.

Within easy reach of Blyde Mountain, you'll find the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre, Swadini Reptile Park and, of course, the Kruger National Park. White-water rafting, canyoning, ballooning, river boat trips, golf, game drives, elephant rides and cliffside walks are just some of the activities on offer in the area. If all this sounds too much, simply lounge in one of the hammocks and enjoy a sundowner while watching the dramatic Drakensberg cliffs.
