The Laikipia area has seen a growth in private wildlife conservancies, as well as private ranches. To cater for visiting tourists, some of the conservancies have built safari lodges with various degrees of luxury, although most tend to be high-end where you can expect to be pampered.

Stretching over a vast area from the foothills of Mount Kenya to the shores of Lake Baringo, the Laikipia Plateau is one of Kenya's lesser known wildlife areas. There are a variety of lodges, mostly luxurious and upmarket.
