More About Xugana Island Lodge
Xugana Island Lodge accommodates 16 guests in the luxury of 8 raised reed and thatch chalets. Each chalet has twin beds, en suite bathroom facilites (including walk-in showers) and overhead fans. The view from the private sundeck overlooks the serene Xugana Lagoon.
Game viewing in the Okavango Delta area is always outstanding. Xugana Lodge offers various ways of exploring this oasis of wildlife and beauty. Guests have the choice to explore the waterways by motorboat or mokoro (dug out canoe) or to enjoy walking safaris on the surrounding islands. Birding enthusiasts will never be disappointed as birding is rewarding all year round. For those interested, fishing for bream, catfish and tigerfish can be arranged. All activites are led by experienced resident guides who are always available to share their knowledge and passion for this unique area.
The lounge, bar and dining areas are set in open sided thatch structures and an open boma and dining area overlooks the Xugana Lagoon. Meals are served alfresco on the edge of the lagoon, or in the lounge which doubles as a dining room on the rare occasion of rain. The swimming pool is located in the centre of the Island, a perfect spot to cool off in the midday heat. When not out and about on game activities, the lodge offers a library and curio shop to browse around or secluded reading benches to enjoy some peaceful time out.
