Established in 1899, the Mount Nelson is certainly one of the finest luxury hotels in South Africa. It has a unique and convenient setting at the foot of the famous Table Mountain on an expansive garden estate.
Guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation. The hotel boasts 201 individually styled rooms and suites, 7 separate accommodation wings and 8 different kinds of rooms and suites.
The Superior Room is an example of the more modest kind of accommodation with views of the hotel gardens, swimming pool or table mountain. The rooms have either twin or kingsize beds, en-suite bathroom and a mini lounge area.
The opulently furnished Luxury suites offer a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, most have an entrance hall, large lounge and dining room. These suites are spacious with beautiful views of the gardens, pool or Table Mountain.
The luxury Penthouse Suite with marbled entrance hall, guest toilet and cloakroom and large lounge leading onto a private balcony offers ultimate exclusivity. This suite has spectacular views of Table Mountain. It has a private dining room, master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The room also has a wet-bar facility with microwave, stove, washbasin and general kitchen utensils.
The Mount Nelson is close to Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront and a variety of stunning beaches. Complimentary transfers to the Waterfront are available daily. However with so much to do within this luxury resort, guests almost have no need to venture out. Whether it is swimming, golf, the gym or the spa or strolling out into the delightful gardens, guests are assured total relaxation and recreation.
First class dining at the Mount Nelson takes place at a choice of venues. The Cape Colony restaurant treats guests to contemporary South African cuisine with an exotic Asian influence. The Oasis Restuarant offers relaxed al fresco dining, extensive lunch and breakfast options and more health orientated meals. Pre-dinner champagne and cocktails can be enjoyed at the Planet Bar. The Mount Nelson is well known for its afternoon tea buffet, a ritual not to be missed! A variety of top-class restuarants are situated within easy driving distance of the hotel.
The Mount Nelson is about 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. We can arrange transfers for you from the airport or have a rental car delivered to your hotel.
