The affordable and popular Inyati Game Lodge in the Sabi Sand reserve is surrounded by 10 000ha of untouched wilderness. Inyati means ‘buffalo' in the local language, which is one of the Big Five animals found in this region.

From the game lodge you can enjoy splendid views over the perennial Sand River. Accommodation is in the form of luxury air-conditioned, thatched chalets. For extra space and luxury there are four executive chalets with a front and back patio, indoor and outdoor shower and a luxurious sunken bath. All the chalets are tastefully decorated in rich earthy tones and have mosquito nets for protection during the warm African nights.

The central area at the lodge includes a spacious lounge and dining room. Evening meals can also be enjoyed in the form of a braai (barbeque) under an African starry sky in the boma (traditional African reed or wood enclosure). Here your hosts are likely to entertain you with their intriguing bushveld stories and experiences. For those more romantically inclined, a memorable mealtime can be arranged on Inyati's floating deck on the Sand River.

Game drives are offered in the morning and afternoon / early evening on open land rovers, which are able to go off-road to get closer to the animals. The game drives are conducted by knowledgeable and informative armed guides and trackers. During the evening game drive we stop for sundowners at a scenic spot, and then continue after dark with spotlights. This will give you opportunities to see Africa's nocturnal animals, as well as the spectacular southern night sky.

For a more intimate experience of the surroundings, bush walks are arranged during the mid morning. An experienced armed guide will introduce guests to the smaller bush inhabitants, the birds, insects and butterflies, the ecology and geology of the area. These game drives and bushwalks offer fantastic opportunities for birding and wildlife photography. The cool swimming pool and wide lawns are a great spot to relax after the day's safari activities.

Inyati Lodge boasts a conference facility for up to 40 delegates. Internet facilities, a curio shop and small gym are available for guest's convenience.
Transport to the lodge is possible by road (6 hours from Johannesburg) or by air, with the choice of flying from Johannesburg to Nespruit or directly to the lodge's airstrip. The road transfer from Nelspruit to Inyati takes just under 2 hours.
