More About Chobe Savanna Lodge

Chobe Savanna Lodge accommodates 24 guests in the elegance of thatch and brick chalets. Each chalet caters to the needs of its guests with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and overhead fans along with the luxury of a fully stocked complimentary mini bar and private deck. Each elegantly furnished chalet features a combined bedroom and lounge area in which to relax and unwind in the shadows of an African sunset. The private deck provides one with spectacular views of the Chobe river flood plains and the opportunity to witness the diverse wildlife that roams this area. The main feature of the lodge is the open sided thatch and timber building which boasts a breath-taking 270 degree view over the Chobe River, complete with powerful spotting scope. The main building includes the lounge, dining room, game viewing bar and library.

Whilst staying at Chobe Savanna Lodge, you can look forward to indulging in complete relaxation or alternatively have the option to get involved in the various activities offered. Game viewing is mainly done by boat on the Chobe River - a truly different and exciting safari experience. The resident professional guides also conduct walking safaris along the rivers edge, which may offer you the opportunity to spot the rare Puku antelope. It is possible to arrange a game drive in the adjacent Chobe National Park, but that involves a border crossing and Botswana immigration procedures. For the keen fisherman, Tiger and Bream fishing expeditions (on a catch and release basis) can be arranged with the experienced guides. A cultural village visit is another popular outing, allowing you to interact with the local communities and observe the traditional lifestyle of the Namibian people.

While just relaxing around camp, take advantage of the wonderful communal facilities. Cool down in the swimming pool or enjoy a drink at the bar. There is an outside gazebo, great for small group lunches or afternoon snacks. Meals are served under the African skies in the open boma area where you will be entertained as the local villagers perform their traditional dance routines. Soak up the sweeping panoramic view of the Chobe River from an armchair in the bar or from your private chalet vewing deck.

Chobe Savanna Lodge is easily reached by boat transfer from Kasane, Botswana. The immigration process is swift and easy.

The Chobe National Park is one of the most popular and most accessible game reserves in Botswana. Situated in the far north of Botswana, Chobe includes the Savute area which is known for high concentrations of lions and elephants, and of course the Chobe River floodplain, where herds upon herds of animals gather in the dry season between May and October. The game reserve is most easily accessed from Kasane, a town just to the east of the park on the banks of the Chobe River, close to the border with Zimbabwe.
