Variety of Land and Water Game Viewing

Chobe Game Lodge offers a choice of land-based and water-based game-viewing activities, all led by resident professional guides. Game drives are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon on open 4x4 vehicles, giving you excellent visibility. Chobe is known for having the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. Game viewing cruises on the Chobe River can be conducted on small motorised boats or larger riverboats (great for game viewing).

The resident guides also offer walking safaris in the nearby Kasane forests, gardens, and along the river, as well as stargazing presentations at night. Game viewing near the riverside is ideal as many animals congregate at the water's edge to drink, especially in the dry season from May to October. Magnificent sightings of wild dog, red lechwe, lion, giraffe and elephant are common.

Superb Cuisine

International and local dishes are served in the terrace restaurant overlooking the Chobe River, or sometimes in the shade of mahogany trees in the outside reed boma (where you may be treated to a performance by traditional dancers).

Spacious and Comfortable Facilities

The main lodge has a spacious lounge as well as a terrace from which to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Chobe River and the variety of animals that come down to drink. If you need to stay in touch with the outside world, broadband Internet access is available at the stylish Thwene cigar bar. The extensive wildlife reference library is a great place to look up that elusive bird or strange antelope. The lodge also has a well-equipped gym and a spa and wellness centre (optional extra). A well-stocked curio shop and the large swimming pool offer more ways to keep you entertained whilst soaking up the essence of one of Botswana's most exclusive safari lodges.

Getting there

Chobe Game Lodge is perfectly located within easy reach of Victoria Falls International Airport (Zimbabwe), Livingstone International Airport (Zambia) and Kasane International Airport (Botswana), from where a daily Air Botswana service connects to Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport (IATA: JNB). Daily road transfers and charter flights are also available.

Chobe National Park

The Chobe National Park is one of the most popular game reserves in Botswana. Situated in the far north of Botswana, Chobe includes the Savute and Linyanti regions which are known for high concentrations of lion and elephant. However, Chobe is best known for the Chobe River floodplain, where herds upon herds of animals gather in the dry season between June and October. The game reserve is most easily accessed from Kasane, a town just to the east of the park on the banks of the Chobe River, close to the border with Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls.
