More About Arathusa Safari Lodge

Arathusa is a popular safari lodge situated in an excellent area for game viewing. One of the lodge's main attractions is that it overlooks an active waterhole, where wildlife can often be seen drinking. This means you can sit on the deck or next to the pool during the day and watch animals come and go, without even going on a game drive.

Game drives are conducted on open land rovers in the early morning and in the afternoon. The Big Five animals are regularly seen on game drives. The afternoon game drive continues after sunset as a night drive, using spotlights to find those elusive nocturnal animals like leopards and lions. A guided bush walk with an armed ranger is also conducted each day after breakfast.

The rooms at Arathusa are comfortable twin or king rooms with en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and mosquito nets. Some of the rooms have a view over the waterhole, but the majority do not.

The central lounge and dining areas are open-sided under thatch, bringing the outside in. The furniture and decor is a mixture of wood, leather and contempory elements to create an ambience of plush African luxury. The lounge area flows to the outside deck and rim-flow swimming pool overlooking the lake. There is also a separate thatched deck overlooking the water, where you can enjoy breakfast, or simply a quiet moment of bird-watching or game viewing.

Arathusa offers excellent value for money and we can confidently recommend this lodge.
